Thyroid Disease Tracker - Dog

$134.00
Description

Thyroid disease is the most common endocrine disease in dogs.

We make early diagnosis and monitoring easier than ever.

Canine hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid gland) is now the most common endocrinopathy seen in dogs. Veterinarians worry many dogs are not diagnosed or are identified too late to avoid permanent organ damage. Dogs undergoing thyroid treatment often lack adequate monitoring tests, leading to poor thyroid medication regulation and premature death or complications.

We want to change that by offering more affordable, convenient testing and monitoring.

Same veterinarian-trusted lab tests.

Our Thyroid Disease Tracker test panels are carefully designed by our team of veterinarians and experts to detect disease as early as possible and to precisely track your dog's thyroid function during treatment.

For monitoring dogs being treated for hypothyroidism or for basic thyroid disease screening purposes, our Canine Thyroid Treatment Tracker includes:

    • Total T4 (total thyroxine hormone) - the most common thyroid function test
    • Free T4 (free T4 by equilibrium dialysis  or FT4d) - a more precise measurement of thyroxine (T4)
    • Total T3 (total triiodothyronine) - another common thyroid function test
POST-PILL INSTRUCTIONS: For interpretation, be sure to provide our staff with the number of hours since your dog's last pill and treatment frequency.
      • If your dog is on twice daily treatment (every 12 hours), the time of the sample is not important as long as it is greater than 3 hours after administration and you tell our staff how long since the last dose. Most dogs are tested 3 to 6 hours post-pill.
      • If your dog is on once a day treatment (every 24 hours), the sample can be drawn 3 to 8 hours post-pill.
      • Be sure to check with your veterinarian if you have any questions about test timing as interpretation criteria may vary.

To definitively diagnose dogs with hypothyroidism or monitor more complicated cases, our Canine Thyroid Diagnostic Tracker includes:

    • Total T4 (total thyroxine hormone) - the most common thyroid function test
    • Free T4 (free T4 by equilibrium dialysis  or FT4d) - a more precise measurement of T4
    • Total T3 (total triiodothyronine) - another common thyroid function test
    • TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone or thyrotropin) - pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroxine and triiodothyronine
    • TgAA (thyroglobulin autoantibody) - in canine thyroiditis, equivalent to Hashimoto’s thyroiditis in humans, antibodies are generated against thyroglobulin, leading to hypothyroidism
    • T3AA (triiodothyronine autoantibodies) - antibodies against thyroid hormone T3
    • T4AA (thyroxine autoantibodies) - antibodies against thyroid hormone T3
